The Daily Whine

Whatever my whine for the day is (and sometimes a Wine as well) But also includes rants and raves about my favorite two authors - Tolkien and Lewis. Currently working on the "Why the Eagle couldn't take the ring" Theory to be published in mid January.

LOTR and The Theory of why the eagles could or could Not have taken the ring.

As I am preparing my blog about one of my biggest pet peeves. I would be interested to hear everyone else's own theories - for and against. So feel free to post them here.

Also, thanks to graywolf, legolas and altoid from streamingsoundtracks.com for getting me started. (Especially altoid who really got the burr under the saddle so to speak)

Seems to me if Saurumon's could cause snow to fall on a mountain on Gandalf and company hundreds of miles away, taking out a few eagles wouldn't be too hard.

My idea is that the eagles would have been visible to the Eye as well as to the spies, can't remember the name of the wizzard but there's one friendly to birds who was feeding info to Saruman although he thought he was doing something good. A word from birds to him about eagles carrying hobbits would have gone straight to Saruman and to disaster.
